A Brooklyn local, Grant founded the company and the original one-of-a-kind jewelry brand, Thea Grant, in 2003 after experiencing repeated success with her costume jewelry designs on the runway. In 2005 Grant was joined by her partner and husband, Nicolás Bazzani.

Their materials range from vintage brass to sterling to gold-fill and result in effects ranging from rock'n'roll to pop to gothic to heirloom.
